an affair to remember

the year: 1957

the genre: drama

the cast: Deborah Kerr (Terry McKay); Cary Grant (Nickie Ferrante); Richard Denning (Kenneth Bradley); Neva Patterson (Lois Clark)

the plot: Handsome playboy Nickie Ferrante and beautiful night club singer Terry McKay fall in love while on a cruise from Europe to New York. Despite being engaged to other people, both agree to reunite at the top of the Empire State Building in six months. However, an unfortunate accident keeps Terry from the reunion. Will Nickie discover the truth behind her absence?

check out: the beautiful scenery of Madeira.

don’t miss: Nickie’s grandmother. She’s played by Cathleen Nesbitt – who also played Grandma McKendrick in the (wait for it, Blaine…) Hayley Mills version of The Parent Trap.

count: how many children are in Terry’s choir.

listen for: “Now then, one thing - watch the camera. When the red light is on, you're on. “ “Yeah? Well, it's on.”

did you know: Deborah Kerr and Cary Grant improvised many of their scenes throughout filming, and a number of lines that made it to the final cut of the film came from the actors' improvisation.

extra bonus points: if you can name the title to the earlier and later movies with the same plot. (Hint: they are the same.)

compare with this:

Ummm....your movie clips kinda gave the bonus question away. I'm gonna go with "Love Affair" for 200. :)

I love this movie! Love Affair wasn't as good. Haven't seen the old Love Affair...I'm sure Blaine would LOVE watching it with me ;)

I agree that the clips gave away the answer, but my guess was going to be dumb and dumber! ;)
