guess who?

He had an inclination for pranks, which ultimately led to his expulsion from Heatherdown at the age of 10 and a half.

One evening in 1933, he had made dinner plans with an attractive female acquaintance, only to find that he was required to attend a compulsory lecture on machine guns, given by a distinguished Major General. At the end of the tedious monologue, the speaker asked if there were any questions. He raised his hand and asked, “Could you tell me the time, sir? I have to catch a train.”
As a result, he found himself arrested on a charge of insubordination. With the help of his guard he escaped from a first-floor window, took a ship to New York and resigned his commission by on-board telegram.

During his WWII service, his batman was Pvt. Peter Ustinov.

Asked by suspicious American sentries during the Battle of the Bulge who had won the World Series in 1943, he answered "Haven't the foggiest idea . . . But I did co-star with Ginger Rogers in Bachelor Mother!"

As a joke he agreed to celebrate the wedding of two gorillas and to be the godfather of their first son.

Was on stage at the 1974's Oscars when a sreaker ran behind him.

Ok, ok. I'll put you out of your misery. Answer: David Niven.

I can only imagine the 'insubordination' he and Peter Ustinov incited!

That mustache is practically a character all its own. Has anyone ever seen him without it?

"Introducing Mr. David Niven and David Niven's mustache!" Which would draw the louder applause?

I definitely think the mustache. It's not quite as good as Tom Sellecks, but then no one else's really is.

Thank you Gina! I'll be able to sleep finally.
