two hours of my life I'll never get back.

Well, it finally happened. I finally found a movie that made me say, "well THAT's two hours of my life I'll never get back."

Beastly is about Kyle, a conceited jerk who thinks he's God's gift to high school. He plays a prank on a fellow high school student, Kendra, who unbeknown to him is a witch. Kendra teaches him a lesson by putting a curse on him making him as beastly on the outside as he is on the inside. He has one year to find someone to love him or stay like that forever.

Hoakey I know, but believe me, I went in with low expectations knowing it was probably targeted to tweens and teens. It had all the great makings of a nice, fluffy movie - so-so plot, fun characters, good moral - and...nuthin'.

See what you think:

Watched any movies that make you wish you could get the two hours back?

You mean besides "Out of Africa?"

"Dude, Where's My Car" - it was only an hour and half long, but I feel like a full 3 hours were deducted from my life as a punitive measure for agreeing to watch it.

This, by the way, is why I don't plan on ever sitting through Xanadu.

Is there any high school themed movie that isn't a waste? Let's look at the ones I have at least seen part of:
HS musical 1 through however many-Nope
A Walk to Remember-Nope
Never Been Kissed-Nope
John Tucker Must Die-Nope
Twlight 1 through however many there'll be-Nope
Grease-Nope
Bring it On 1 through whatever-Nope
Day After Tomorrow-Nope
Step Up 1 through whatever-Nope
Mean Girls-Nope
Dazed and Confused-Nope
American Beauty-Nope
Summer School-Nope
and the list could go on....

Seriously, HS was four years of our life we'll never get back. Now they make you pay for more hours of your life you'll never get back just to watch a movie about HS.

I dunno, Day After Tomorrow had its redeeming qualities. For example, it was so believable! And also, Dennis Quaid isn't at all melodramatic. And don't forget it was all caused by evil, fast-food eating, SUV driving, non-recycling Americans. What's not to like?
