with six you get eggroll
the year: 1968
the genre: comedy
the cast: Doris Day (Abby McClure); Brian Keith (Jake Iverson); Pat Carroll (Maxine Scott); Barbara Hershey (STacy Iverson); George Carlin (Herbie Fleck)
the plot: Abby McClure, a widow with three sons, and Jake Iverson, a widower with a teen-age daughter, get fixed up. When a serious courtship does begin, their respective children - most specifically Abby's oldest, late teen Flip McClure, and Jake's only offspring, late teen Stacey Iverson - are their biggest obstacles as Flip and Stacey don't want their role of male and female head of their respective household replaced.
don't miss: the fate of the wig. I'll just say that a sheepdog was involved and leave it at that.
listen for: "False hair, false eyelashes, false bosoms. In my day women were flesh and blood, now they're 70% nylon and 30% foam rubber."
did you know: this was Doris Day's final big screen appearance, following a 20 year career in the movies.
extra bonus points: if you know which two M*A*S*H alumns appeared as hippie bikers in this film.
also listen for: "If this wasn't my house I'd go home!"

Wow. That looks like quite the wild ride.
I really liked this movie. Its been a long time, but I've wanted to watch it again.
From the credits, that would be Clinger(Jamie Farr) and Father Mulcahey(William Christopher). I think they would make great hippies!
Oh, indeed they do! http://www.fanpop.com/spots/doris-day/images/21949001/title/with-six-eggroll-screencap
